63 Years of Art and Wildfire Prevention

Theme: go the extra mile each time you burn a pile
CONTEST RULES:
Participant’s name, grade, school, school phone number, school address, teacher’s name and email must be included on back of artwork (download label HERE)
Artwork will be judged on originality, design, slogan, artwork, and prevention message
Entries must follow the wildland fire theme, “Go the extra mile each time you burn a pile”
Contest is open to Montana students in grades K-12
Slogans should be clear, brief, and positive
There is no paper size requirement
Organization and agency logos and copyright characters such as Smokey Bear may not be used
Use sturdy papers, such as cardstock or construction paper or mount on mat board
Artwork becomes property of Keep Montana Green and may be used for publicity purposes
Each teacher may only send the top 5 submissions per classroom
JUDGING:
Artwork will first be judged regionally by the six Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) Land Offices. The DNRC regional offices will select and award ribbons to the first three places in each division and recognize honorable mentions. The regional land offices will then advance the artwork of the regional winners to the statewide competition, where they will be judged by DNRC fire and forestry professionals. First, second, and third place winners will be recognized from each division at the state level, as well as an overall, statewide winner across all divisions. Note: Computer Generated and Special Education Divisions are only judged statewide.
